Plus two things you need for Ai adoption.
We have another great newsletter to showcase today back from April of this year! Check it out and please subscribe to our newsletter here so you don't miss any of our future updates. Also check us out on LinkedIn for tons more tips and tricks in Ai design from us! Let's roll out!
Week 50. We are closing in on a year of newsletters. I need to figure out how to celebrate that occasion! More to come, but for now, here’s what we’re covering today:
- Strategy: The Two Things You Need for Ai Adoption
- Tips: Which Tool Should You Choose?
- Community: Pledges

The Two Things You Need for Ai Adoption
Successful Ai adoption comes when you understand when and where to use tools. To achieve this, you need two things:
- Define what success looks like. What are you trying to accomplish?
- A solid and experienced understanding of which Ai tools can do what for you.
If you can figure these two things out then your chances of Ai adoption success go up dramatically.
In the next section you’ll see an example of how two different tools come into play and provide very different outcomes.
02 / TIPS
Which Tool Should You Choose?
Let’s say that we wanted to revise this helmet concept that came out of Midjourney. We needed to look at different visor and venting treatments.
We have two options here. Option one is that we use Midjourney’s vary by region feature to edit portions of the design. Option two is to take it into Krea. Both have pros and cons. Let’s dig into that.
Option 01 - Midjourney
Staying in Mijdourney offers some strong benefits. Above you can see how we looked at four different visor treatments. Below we explored four different vent treatments on the back of the helmet:
Midjourney allows us to explore a portion of a design, while leaving the remainder at 100% fidelity to the original. You only change what you want, which is a really strong plus.
The downsides here are two. One, you can’t do this with an image not generated in Ai. And two, you can’t control exactly what you want in the areas you revise. You can tell Midjourney you want it to revise that area, but you can’t tell it to do the exact shape you want.
That being said, with enough generations, some remixing of the prompt and with some clever selection guidance, you’ll be able to guide it with much more direction.
Option 02 - Krea
Krea is a much stronger tool for more controlled iteration, however you have to understand what it can and can’t do.
The biggest thing you need to understand about Krea is this - when you input an image, the output you’ll get will never be exactly the same. In the image above I have turned Ai weight all the way down. Even then you can see that the original image has been changed. Note the logo as an example.
The bigger downside to a low Ai weight is that the iterations I make on the input image (see the the grey rectangles near the visor), are represented in the output (right image) as similarly shaped rectangles. So while the original helmet design is closer to the original intent, there is no room to iterate.
That brings us to the solution. We can turn the Ai weight up to a point that changes on the input image are represented by Ai in the output image. Like below:
At a weight of about 25%, we can now move some different color rectangles on the input side (left) and they will be represented on the output side (right) as helmet details. I can now do the same for venting.
When all is said and done, Krea gives you control. You can dictate where you want new details, what color they should be, and more. What you give up for that controlled iteration capability is the 100% fidelity to the original concept. Instead you get about 80% of the way there.
In Closing
And if we know this, it will undoubtedly lead to less frustration and faster results. A win-win.

Pledges
I don’t know if I’ll ever make a portion of this newsletter paid, but it’s cool to see that six people are prepared to pay a total of $500 for access to this for the year!
This is via a pledging feature that I still don’t 100% know how it works, but that’s how these came about it. Happy to see this is of value.
Until next week,
Hector
